This gorgeous porcelain Moriage incense burner features a stunning dimensional dragon design in grey, turquoise, white, and gold that encircles the bowl. The lid repeats the colors. The bowl's handles and the lid's knob are a brilliant, shiny gold. The bowl stands on three curved legs. The inside of the bowl is shiny and white. The underside of the lid is a deep russet brown. The underside of the bowl shows this was "Made in Japan". Both the bowl and the lid have detailed holes that allow the incense scent to escape.This piece measures 3½" tall to the top of the lid. It is 2¼" tall without the lid. It measures 3½" wide from handle to handle. The opening to the bowl is 1¼" across.This piece dates to the 1950s. It was owned by a woman who had it carefully on display in a hutch her house for decades. This piece has no chips, cracks, crazing, or discoloration. Darker marks on the bottom of the bowl are part of the glazing/manufacturing process. This is a beautiful example of Japanese art.Perfect for the collector of Japanese ceramics, incense burners, or dragon decor.
