This listing is for a set of two attractive vintage Mid-Century diamond shaped stone ashtrays. They are hand carved (likely in Italy or Pakistan) out of Italian or Pakistani onyx. The stone is often alternatively labeled as alabaster. As with all hand-crafted items, part of their charm is that the two pieces in the set are not exactly alike. The stone also shows a natural variation in color and layered/ribboned appearance. In addition to their function as ashtrays, they may alternatively be used as pen holders or catch-alls. They are approximately 4.75 inches by 3.5 inches by 0.75 inches in dimension and each weigh approximately 8.5 ounces.
