Vintage male Mexican Doll in native dress. Composition body, painted exaggerated features. 9 1/4\" inches tall.Doll is wearing a black velvet suit with orange rickrack accents, a large removable detailed sombrero, and a small woven striped serape draped over one shoulder. Hard composition body and face. The sombrero is very sturdy and detailed. It is made of a stiff material, trimmed along the brim with a sewn-on tan and rust animal print, and decorated around the head with a leather-like material and black and white thin yarn. Black and white thin yarn is also used for the sombrero tie. The doll has sturdy shoes that are painted a shiny black. The doll can stand on its own--it leans slightly to one side. There are no nicks or scrapes.
From my mother\'s doll collection. Her notecard for the doll indicates she purchased it in 1982 from the J. Stalvo\'s collection (I assume an estate sale).
