What I have offered here is a lovely all handmade, carved and painted wooden Batea bowl made in Mexico that measures approximately 9 inches in diameter by 1 inch tall.

This carved and painted bowl is a traditional folk art product of Olinala State in Central Mexico.

This example has wonderful and vibrant colors as is typical in these bowls. It has the traditional low upturned sides with a flat rim made from one solid piece of wood, it is just amazing!! The picture shows the flowers as being two-tone pink, two-tone blue and red with a gorgeous blue bird very unique and beautiful. The back of the bowl shows the typical adze sculpted surface with its deep reddish brown sizing or primer. The condition is very Good with no cracks or repairs.
