This metal statue on a black marble base depicts the Virgin Mary holding Jesus after his crucifixion.
It\'s commonly known as the \"Pieta\" after Michelangelo\'s famous sculpture found in the Vatican.
It measures approximately 4 3/4\" in width, 4 1/2\" in height, and 3\" in depth and weighs 1 1/4 lbs.
Engraved on the front is: S ir DES TROIS EPIS.
This refers to the \"Sanctuaire Notre-Dame des Trois-Épis\" in the diocese of Strasbourg.
The back is engraved V M with what appears to be the number 149.
It is beautifully detailed and is in excellent vintage condition without damage.
