The original Madonna of the Chair, also known as Madonna della Seggiola or Madonna della Sedia, is located in the Palazzo Pitti Collection in Florence, Italy, and is considered one of Raphael\'s most important Madonnas.The painting is a tondo, which is a circular or oval image that emphasizes the mother\'s tenderness for her child. The painting\'s fame grew after it returned to Florence from Napoleon in 1799, and it became a mandatory stop on the Grand Tour. Young artists often drew the painting as a formative moment in their lives.
