This is an elegant Chribska Cranberry Art Glass Vase with a reticulated/pierced rim ... the lower section is in a rich Purple/Amethyst. Likely created by Josef Hospodka during the 1960s, thisvase measures approximately 9-3/4\" tall x 5-1/2\" in diameter. A superb example of Mid-Century Czech art glass. Chribska Glassworks was founded in Bohemia in 1414. About 1950, many factories were nationalized, and Chribska became part of theBorske Sklo National Corporation. At this timeJosef Hospodkajoined the factory, eventually becoming head designer at Borske Sklo and Chribska from 1958-1970. During this period, Hospodka produced many sculptural blown glass designs, which proved very popular. Many of Hospodka\'s designs remained in production until the factory closed in 2007.
