This is a truly vintage Lourdes rosary. Circa 1958. Somewhat rare. Highly collectible.
You will receive the exact rosary pictured. It is about 24.5\" overall length. The crucifix measures a little over 2\". The rosary weighs 30.5 grams.
Lucite Blue Bubble Beads. Research suggests that at one time, the bubble beads held holy water that has since evaporated. The pater beads are heart-shaped.
The rosary has a small metal tag: LEGATURA ALPACCA on one side, BREVETTO ITALY N. 585850 on reverse. There are photographs of the tag, front and reverse.
The bubble beads are clear overall, with some intermittent age-related clouding. The colors are bright. 100% of the beads are present. Each bead has a reinforcement ring, top and bottom. 100% of the rings are present.
The crucifix is complete with the INRI scroll. The letters INRI remain fully legible. The corpus shows excellent detail with minimal softening. The crucifix has no marking/lettering on reverse. Overall, the crucifix is in excellent to very good vintage condition. On reverse, it retains its original luster with minimal scuffing or scratches.
The centerpiece is also in excellent to very good vintage condition. It is fully intact. The depiction of the LOURDES apparition is fully visible. The words on reverse are fully legible: JE SUIS L\' IMMACULEE CONCEPTION LOURDES. On reverse, the clear acrylic centerpiece is remarkably clear with very minimal scratches or scuffing.
The rosary is complete, intact and strong. Overall, this rosary is in excellent to very good vintage condition. It appears to have never undergone repair or replacement. It appears that someone obtained this rosary and immediately placed it into a jewelry box. It is essentially free of the age-related issues often seen in the circa 1958 LOURDES Lucite bubble bead rosary. For a rosary that is 66 years of age, it is in remarkable condition. Several photographs serve as the best descriptor for this highly collectible rosary.
