This type of small knife is the shape of a traditional Japanese tool, originally made as a carpenter\'s tool. Later, it spread as a general-purpose tool for shaving wood and cutting fabric. It is grinded on one side only .These are slim models, one for the left hand and one for the right hand.
The carbon steel construction will rust if not oiled.
