Up for offers is a couple of vintage playing card decks. One of the decks is a vintage Kent playing card deck, which the box states was made in Spain and distributed by Lorillard in the USA and the other deck in this lot is a Bicycle Rider Back deck. Both of these decks were seldom used back in the day, but they each wound up with a considerable amount of wear on their packaging boxes from being kept in inadequate storage areas.The Kent deck is the one that is in considerably much better condition (visually speaking) as it still has an actual flap or cover on the box that it came in. This, of course, doesn\'t rule out the creases and other signs of wear that are on the box, however, as the box does appear to be quite worn from storage and/or very minimal prior use. On the other hand, the cards themselves appear to be in very good condition; albeit with some minor black smears or smudges/stains here and there. The one thing I find a bit out of the ordinary about this deck is that the four of clubs has some text written on it in slightly arched or circular text on two lines (towards the top and bottom) that reads Fournier-Vitoria (along the top) and then Plastic Coated (at the bottom). No other card in the deck has this text for some odd reason (see picture #7). The Ace of Spades card in this deck has the same Fournier-Vitoria logo on it (as it\'s obviously the manufacturer) and there\'s also the aforementioned Made in Spain stamp at the bottom of this card.The same can be send about the condition of the playing cards in the Bicycle card set... as they too, have seldom been used; however, there might be some minor wear along the tops of these cards as the box itself no longer has its closing flap intact. It was probably lost ages ago due to being stored in the wrong place or something along those lines. According to the information written on the ace of spades card, this set was manufactured in Cincinnati, U.S.A. by the US Playing Card Co. and is listed as a Bicycle 808 set with an L1604 suffix (I\'m not sure what this latter number means, but it\'s there and definitely worth mentioning for the accuracy of this product description and whatnot).
Both of the decks in this lot are complete with all four suits and all cards (i.e. Ace, 2-10, Joker, Queen, & King). The Kent cards feature a couple under a tree with the male figure offering a light with the lighter in his hand to the woman holding a cigarette... please bear in mind that Kent is a cigarette company, after all, hence the reason for this type of psuedo subliminal marketing motif here. The Bicycle card deck has a blue back on it with what can best be described as an allegory of some sort with a winged Angelique looking figure that almost looks like a baby on a bicycle surrounded by a very intricate border pattern.
Either way, I\'m starting the offerding at a very low and affordable price for any interested party/collector out there. These cards might not be in the best of shape, but they are somewhat collectible; when you consider their advertising backstory/history and whatnot (at least for one of these decks, that is).
