Vintage Japanese Kamotsuru Brand Sake Decanter Goddess of Art -- Basement Find This is a vintage sake decanter from the Kamotsuru Sake Brewing Co. featuring the goddess of art and literature. This bottle is part of a series of 7 Japanese gods and goddesses themed decanters. The 7 deities are worshiped at all times in Japan but especially during the new year, so I\'m thinking the line of decanters most likely marketed for New Year\'s celebrations. A dusty find from my parents basement. I believe this to be from the \'70\'s but I don\'t know for sure. The sake inside is long gone and the cork is dried out so this piece is purely for decoration, whether you collect Japanese cultural artifacts or alcohol memorabilia, it\'s cool piece for your collection. The piece is a bit dirty. It was covered in grime so I gave it a quick and gentle wipe. This piece is hand-painted I did not want do too much and risk damage to the paint, and most collectors prefer to do their own cleaning. The gold paint on one side shows signs of wear. From a smoke-free, climate controlled home.
