Vintage Infant of Prague Carved Wood Church Statue w/Wall Plinth 37” Large:

This is a vintage church statue of the Infant of Prague. It is from a closed Catholic Church in Steubenville, Ohio. I believe the Church was Our Lady of North American Martyrs which was opened in 1960 and closed in 2002. It was purchased from an estate. Total height to the top of the crown is about 37”. It is slightly less than 12 inches wide and about 9” deep. With the exception of the crown, it is all one piece including the plinth. The plinth does have holes where it could be mounted to a wall. It is also pretty stable just sitting on a table. Weight of the item itself excluding packaging is just under 15 pounds. It is carved from wood. I am uncertain of the origin.

It is in excellent condition overall. The statue has minimal issues. There is one very tiny chip on the cuff on his right wrist, as shown. There are a couple of small scratches on his brows. The paint on the left eye may have a little wear. There is some damage on the crown. His crown has several cracks and may have been repaired because it looks like there is glue inside. It just rests on his head and was probably knocked off when the nuns dusted him a time of two. The cross at the top of the crown is missing both sides of the cross bar. A number of the glued on “gems” on the crown are missing, but should be readily replaceable.
