Huntsville was first settlement in Mississippi Terri-tory, with the largest population of the Territory.

It was FIRST in the following: Capital of the State, Congressman,Newspaper, Bank, Land Office,

Cotton Gin, Cotton Mill, & Masonic Lodge. The main attraction is the largest natural spring in the world with a 24,000,000 gallon flow per day. The first public water works with cedar pipes was established here. John Hunt in 1804 discovered the spring, thus the name Huntsville.
