For your consideration is a vintage Hummel wood cased music box featuring the adornment of the image of The Little Goat Herder Boy. The box measures 4 3/4" across, 2 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide. The exterior is great, with a few very small spots of wear, barely noticed. The hinged lid opens to playing music when it is wound (key on bottom). It plays a Strauss waltz titled "Rosen aus dem Suden", translating to Roses From the South. The label on the bottom of the box identifies it. This has Swiss musical movement. I cannot see the maker on the label, as the surface is worn in a spot. Inside you can see the movement working when the lid is up. I always recomment to not wind it up too tight so it doesn't lock up. It is working fine for me. A lovely display piece!
