You are offerding on this Huckleberry Hound Oversized Head Display (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1960s-70s).\"Wal, bust mah britches!\"That cheerful blue dog from down south who loves to sing \"Oh My Darlin\' Clementine\" off-key made this character a classic.The Huckleberry Hound Showwas Hanna-Barbera\'s second television series, premiering in 1958. This was the show that rocketed the studio to fame, primarily due to one of the original segments starring Yogi Bear. The show was awarded an Emmy Award in 1961; it was the first animated series to be so honored. This molded and hand-painted piece with stuffed felt ears was displayed at a theme park, and later wound up at the Hanna-Barbera Studios as an in-house decoration. My understanding is that a staffer wore this head as part of a costume, but with the head facing behind him (he wore the strap on his forehead, so he could eat, drink, and talk\". Although pretty large (approximate dimensions are 13.5\" wide, 21\" tall, and 16\" deep), it\'s fairly light, about 3 lbs, with a strap on the back. Paint shows wear with some stains and dings; the felt ears are later replacements, added to complete the image of this beloved \"aw shucks\" character.Check out photos as they are part of the description. This item was likely created sometime in the 60s or 70s. I believe this was part of the World of Hanna Barbera ride at King\'s Island amusement park, because I remember seeing Huckleberry and other animatronic Hanna Barbera characters traveling through this ride.
