Here I have two really beautiful vintage handpainted (Palekh*) lacquer floral brooches, both with floral designs and lots of wonderful colors and detail. They are being sold as a set.
The heart shaped one has a periwinkle blue background with gorgeous rose-like flowers and leaves with tiny gold dots surrounding the painted center of the heart. It is signed on the back, but I am unable to decipher the signature or the location of the artist. It measures 1.75\" high and 1.75\" across.
The oblong diamond one with the burgundy background, has several types of flowers and leaves masterfully painted in great detail and finished off with thin gold skwiggles. It also has a signature that I can\'t read. This one measures 2.5 inches across and 1.5 inches high.
Both have a working clasp on the backs, and are in incredible condition.
*Palekh miniature is a Russian folk handicraft of a miniature painting, which is done with tempera paints on varnished articles made of papier-mâché.
