This dancer is not the same as the many you see for sale.She was made in Germany, but nowhere does it say Dresden orany of the other popular makers. She has a mark, and as you can seein the picture it is hard to read. There is a five point crown on top.Underneath are the letters K & P. I am not sure about those. It couldbe R & P or the final letter could be T or S. It is hard to read the script.There is more script below which is not complete. The final lettersseem to be ller with an underline. Under all this in block letters the basereads Made in Germany. If anyone knows more about this mark orthe origin of this dancer, please let me know. I will add that on the rightside of the base there is an impressed 6A, which may be the model or
mould number.
My father brought me, his little ballerina, this figurine after a trip abroad inthe 1950s. I was under 10 years old and taking ballet lessons. The
dancer was purchased in the Netherlands. She is in perfect condition,which is a miracle having survived two brothers and numerous movesover 70 years. The ballerina figure is looking up beyond her raised arms. She has brownhair and dark eyes. Her dress is pink and white porcelain lace, which I alwaysthought was most interesting. How could that be made? There is a pink ruffleat the neck, a plain white bodice with gold armholes and three hashes of goldacross the front, a white ruffle at the waist, and a longish pinkskirt with a white ruffle at the hem. The skirt is decorated on the left side, front,and back with three forget-me-nots with gold leaves. The dancer wears gold
slippers, and the base is edged in gold. She stands 2.25 x 1.75 x 2.75 inches.
She\'s a neat little lady for some father to give to his little ballerina.
