It is sized as 4 Fl Oz and is empty.
On the Web I found that Solon Palmer, originally out of Cincinnati, is one of America’s oldest Perfumers and opened his first shop in 1847. He is credited with staring the first traveling sales force for his products. The business was moved to New York City in 1871. In 1913, the company’s first big seller came about and it was this fragrance, Garden Glow. The popularity of this fragrance lasted for 30 years. The gold paper Art Nouveau label on this bottle was on all Garden Glow bottles.
- This clear glass bottle, which is empty is exemplary of the initial toilet water bottles, a square bottle with a 1 inch neck that is molded. The golden paper label is still in great condition.
- The stopper is a molded crystal stopper, which is in very good condition. The stopper end is glass which fits into the neck of the bottle very well.
- The front bottom of the bottle is embossed: Toilet Water (photo X)
- The bottom backside of the bottle is embossed: 4 Oz; Average.
- The left side of the bottle has remnants of the original blue paper label and reads:
- Height of this bottle is: 5 ¾ inches tall.
Interesting little piece of history in the cosmetics line. They also made a number of powder compacts.
