Great studios flourished and so much creativity went into crafting stories that were alternately cinematic fantasies, historic documentation of grim realities like the first World War and charming tales of daily life and romances. The holiday cards are particularly colorful and lovely. People today probably don\'t realize how huge the April Fool\'s holiday was in this period! It is interesting the way these postcards celebrated all the diverse cities and cultures of France. These were a unifying element in a time before television or even wide diffusion of radios. There could be also be a morally troubling side displayed in the cards relating to colonialism and other inequalities. This one shows people collecting sea shells at low tide. This one may be the 1920s or 1930s. It\'s such a great piece of ephemera. The card was to be sent away for brochures to choose your course of studies. It\'s interesting that besides the office professions there were possibilities like business or foreign languages and even cinema. It\'s so easy to frame these inexpensively and use them as decorative elements. I assure you your guests will be drawn to them.
