Here’s a fine old silver mounted billiard from the French pipe house of ROPP. About 5 3/4” long, bowl is 1 7/8” tall, 1 3/8” wide. ID 3/4”, depth 1 5/8”. Marked on side of shank ROPP in oval, other side N10. Band is stamped ROPP/ BRIGHTON then ARGENT/ MASSIF (French for Solid Silver). ROPP logo inlaid on side of bit. No other marks detected.

Bit is well-seated push fit, no filter, cleaned and polished, showing no bite wear. Stummel is dark chocolate colored, mostly flame grain, some handling wear, clean rim, lightly caked bowl. This briar is compact with lots of character—classic design, some tarnish on silver.
