Jeantet of France has been crafting briar pipes since 1858. This is a classic blasted Billiard with fantail bit! About 5 1/2” long, bowl is 1 3/4” tall, 1 3/16” wide. ID 3/4”, depth 1 1/2”. Marked beneath shank JEANTET/ 42BIS. A white encircled capital J stamped on side of bit. No other marks detected.

Fantail Bit is well-seated push fit with long metal stinger, cleaned and polished, showing no bite wear. Stummel is black, deeply sandblasted including clean inwardly curved rim, lightly caked bowl. Classic style and in nice condition!
