Jeantet of France celebrated there pipe crafting since 1816 with this pipe made in 1951! This is a classic Billiard with striking flame grain! About 5 1/2” long, bowl is 1 3/4” tall, 1 3/16” wide. ID 11/16”, depth 1 1/2”. Marked on one side of shank JEANTET/ DE LUXE then OIL HARDENED, other side RESERVE DU JUBILÉ/ 1816-1951 then 42 BIS. A white J inside octagon stamped on side of bit. No other marks detected.

Bit is well-seated push fit, no filter, cleaned and polished, showing a couple light tooth impressions. Stummel is rich milk chocolate colored, flame grain, a flaw beneath shank, a couple dings and scratches, clean inwardly curved rim, lightly caked bowl. In fine condition for a 70+ year old briar!
