For sale is a very hard to find all original printed cardboard general/country store advertising sign for Sanka brand decaffeinated coffee. I have owned and displayed this sign since the 1980s after I purchased it from a collector, and now that I am retiring and downsizing, it must go to a new collector. Measuring 21\" x 22\", this sign would have been on the wall of an old general, country or corner mom-and-pop grocery store as far back as the 1930s-1940s. Sign is printed on cardboard stock. Overall condition is very good for an item of its age and fragility. The yellow of the coffee can has faded just a bit, but the orange and black colors are still strong. There are a number of tack holes along the top and bottom edges where it was attached to walls. There are bent corners and some small tears. One minor crease through the second A in Sanka. There are a couple of dents, scratches, scuffs, marks, etc., to the face of the sign. The back of the sign shows appropriate discoloration from age, old tape residue and scars, as well as black \"ghost\" lettering from having laid on top of another sign shortly after printing. This is an awesome display piece.
Due to its size and fragility, the sign will have to be carefully packed. The sign itself will be placed in a plastic bag sandwiched between 3 pieces of honeycomb cardboard. This will then be put into a 26\" x 26\" x 5\" box for shipping, with crumbled packing paper filling in any gaps to prevent movement. Total weight for the package is 6 1/2 pounds - necessary to protect your treasure. Shipping will be calculated using the above measurements for both USPS and UPS options.
