Vintage Cutwork Scalloped Edged Placemats: Circa 1950\'s. 17\" x 12\"Placemats measure 17\" (43cm) x12\" (30cm)These belonged to my husband\'s late grandmother who was an excellent seamstress and handmade many items we have. This set was found during his late-parent\'s house clearance in a trunk with 100\'s of tapestries, cushion covers and dozens of other tablecloths, place mats and runners (many of which were hand embroidered which we have also listed here). They have been thoroughly examined in sunlight for any wear, damage, stains or signs of use and none can be found, but please be aware that 2 of them appear to be a little whiter than the other 3, not entirely sure why. I have never been very good at distinguishing my cotton from my linen; we have both and I believe this is linen, but cannot be 100% sure. What I definitely know is that this set is simply beautiful. Sold as a set (table runner and napkins and would rather not split them as they match).
