This is a 1947 National Union radio model 571 made in Orange NJ. I think it has great deco lines with the perforrated metal speaker grille with a slight front slant. Sorry to say this one was a dirty mess needing some TLC. Dark brown with no class. The entire mahogany veneer case was sanded & tinted to match the original factory pattern. I repaired the veneer issues. Finished with several coats of semi gloss lacquer. The speaker grille was a bad brown color so after it was cleaned I painted it gold. Much better. The original knobs were missing so I used 2 matching from my inventory. The original glass dial was in good condition cleaned & back painted it to highlight the color & design. The lines & overall shape make this a classic deco radio. I like the contrast of the wood, grille & dial. Please review the pics. On the inside, I installed a new Bluetooth digital stereo hi-fi audio amplifier with 50 watts per channel in addition to a 5\" Pioneer multi range speaker. Great sound here. Yes this classic is now a real boom box. Installed the on/off/volume switch with the knob on the right. The other is fixed. DO NOT TURN. Reused the original back panel. All of the electronics are hard wired and secured to the inner supports insure a long life. This is one of a kind Bluetooth stereo that is deco cool. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement. There is a new electrical plug also. The 1947 National Union deco radio converted to Bluetooth measures 13\" x 8\" x 7.5\" .Will look good, sound great and fit anywhere. Let know if you have any questions.
