Vintage Christmas Pairpoint Glass Cup Plate from St. Mary\'s Church in New Bedford MA Symbolism of the Wild Rose and Marian Art in Pairpoint Cup Plates Handcrafted on Cape Cod, Made in USA Add a touch of vintage charm to your Christmas decor with this lovely Pairpoint Glass Cup Plate from St. Mary\'s Church in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This beautiful light amethyst cup plate features the wild rose design, which symbolizes the five joys of Mary and is a reminder of the five letters in Maria. It is the first plate in the Symbols in Marian Art Cup Plate Series and is the 3,189th cup plate out of 4,000 pressed. The edge is a double single double scallop with the lettering \"St. Mary\'s Christmas 1981\". Commissioned and designed by Phillip Chasse, and engraved by Andrew Bourbon, this cup plate is a true work of art. Made in the USA, it is sure to become a treasured addition to your collection. Vintage Pairpoint Glass lead crystal cup plates are works of art that feature intricate designs and decorative elements not commonly found on modern glass. They can add a touch of elegance to a collection or home decor. The 3.5 inch cup plates were handcrafted on Cape Cod using traditional techniques. The artisan created a steel mold with hammer and chisel for each intricate design, and then hand-pressed molten glass into the engraved mold using an antique press. This hand process created a series of cup plates that are similar, but not identical. The irregularities highlight the handmade nature of each piece. Each cup plate has the artisan\'s initials and the Pairpoint trademark embedded within the design. The cup plate can be used as a small catchall dish to keep track of small trinkets such as keys or jewelry, or as a ring dish to keep all your small, special things safe.

Most of the vintage cup plates were commissioned by historical societies, museums, churches, and other non-profit organizations.
