Bao Gong Fairhearted CupThe Northern Song Dynasty Bao Gong Fairhearted Cup (also known as the "Justice Cup") is a display piece that was excavated and sorted out by the Northern Song Dynasty Official Porcelain Art Research Center of Henan University from the few historical.records of the Northern Song Dynasty and developed by Master Zhang Jieguang. When this cup is full, the country is clean and there is no surplus. When it is half full, there is no leakage. The meaning is "Fullness brings harm, humility brings benefit." The truth of life is all init. It is said that Bao Gone often used it to taste tea. The saying of "tea seven, Rice 8, wine ten" in traditional Chinese Culture.
The cup can only hold certain amount of water. If one pours too much water, then all the water in the cup would be drained through the bottom opening. The legend has it that The Tang Emperor presented the cup to his newly-wed prince and princess as a cautionary tale that one who is too greedy could instead lose all he possesses.
