The name of the original users have been blurred out in images to protect the identity of the deceased original owners. Cards will arrive intact with original stamping and signatures.

This is truly a unique piece of Americana and Texas history. Joske’s was the first department store in Texas to utilize the charga-plate system. It is incredibly difficult to pinpoint an exact issuing date. The red case is indicative of these plates being issued some time in the 1950’s. Additionally, other documents and items from this family’s estate sale seem to corroborate them being from the mid 1950’s. Since the charges-plate system stopped being used by Joske’s in 1968, these plates can be no less than 56 years old.
