This is a wonderful ceramic monkey figurine that is lying on its back and holding up a bowl. The monkey is wearing a sleeveless decorated vest in hot pink and has a beautifully detailed face with green eyebrows. The bowl has pinkish-white relief decoration on the outside and is hand-painted in colors of green with pink, black, and white trim. The piece weighs about 2 pounds and 1 ounce and measures approximately 6-1/2 to 7 inches tall, 7 inches long, and 4 inches wide. There are markings at the bottom in red that appear to be the numbers 34, and a round hole at the base.
The paint colors of this vintage piece look great and still remain vibrant. There seems to be no damage of any kind, such as chips, cracks, or repairs. The piece is versatile and could be used for many purposes like a candy dish, fruit bowl, planter, soap dish, or trinket dish. This particular monkey figurine lying on its back is quite rare and unique.
