Vintage Case XX 1940-64 62009 1/2 Barlow - Chestnut Bone Handles - Unused:

This is a vintage Case 62009 ½ “Barlow” pattern pocketknife.
The tang stamp is CASE XX 1940-1964. The knife is 3-3/8” closed with brass liners. The blade steel is CV (carbon) steel. Both blades have strong snap with half stops. The blades are each tight with no side-to-side wobble. The chestnut bone handles have great color, no cracks or damage. Note: it appears that a previous owner buffed the bone handles smooth - the handles have no \"sawcut\" marks, and the brass pins are flattened and smooth. Never sharpened - factory edges - blades have some specks and minor tarnish on the factory finish.
Bolsters and backsprings have handling rub marks,backsprings have light tarnish. Classic CASE pattern with carbon steel blades, great knifefor everyday carry! The handles on this knife were crafted from South American Zebu cattle shin bone. Genus/Species - Bos indicus or Bos taurus indicus.
