This is a spoon from Camp Forrest, Georgia. It is 5 3/8\" long and 1 5/16\" wide across the spoon or shovel. It is made of copper or bronze. This camp was open 1941-1945 to provide logistical support for the Tennessee Manuevers. On May 12, 1942 it became a POW camp making it the first civilian internment camp in the nation.
Great rare piece of military memorabilia. It is stamped Camp Forrest GA on the shovel and USA on the handle. It is also marked with hallmarks on the back side that is likely the maker\'s mark. It has great detail on both sides of the spoon.
