Vintage CBS Television Glass Ashtray 1952 "Eye in the Sky" logo - Green MCM dish:

RARE, vintage, CBS Television ashtray circa 1952.  The "Eye in the Sky" was the first version of the CBS eye logo introduced in 1951. This ashtray was used as a promo for the network and I believe only distributed within the broadcasting industry making it exceptionally rare today. 

It features an elegant mid-century modern design in which the logo is printed in black and white on the bottom of the glass, creating a 3D effect as if looking at an old television screen.  The rest of the glass is colored in deep hunter green.  A truly beautiful item in great shape considering its age with absolutely no chips, cracks or scratches.  Some of the material has naturally aged over the years (see photos). 

This was intended to be used as an ashtray, but could be used as a small trinket dish or displayed on a shelf.  Measures 4.5 inches across.
