This is a limited edition bronze paperweight cast to commemorate the actions and words of Oskar Schindler (1908 - 1974).

According to newspaper accounts, the INSET paperweight showing a man holding a shield that says "Alles fur Deutschland 1943" (All for Germany) in front of an industrial setting with Oskar Schindler's name was originally awarded to Oskar Schindler for his exemplary service to the Nazi party for his work in producing items for the Nazi state. Schindler's factory allowed him to employ and thus shelter over a thousand Jews from working in less humane conditions and facing abuse and starvation. The original Nazi award made its way from South America where Schindler lived for a time after the war, up to Florida where it was found by an antique dealer in 1993. After the release of the movie "Schindler's List" later that year, the finder took it to an sale house that verified its authenticity using various means including showing it in person to Schindler's widow Emilie Schindler(1907 - 2001). In 1995 the original paperweight was saleed off for $43,000. (This is a limited edition reproduction bronze cast of that original.)

This paperweight was designed by the current owner of the original Schindler award and combines Schindler's original paperweight and his famous quote "Whoever saves one life saves the world entire". This paperweight was cast by the lost wax method by Rinaudo's Reproductions of Los Angeles, CA. According to the current owner and producer approximately 300 of these were cast, some of gold, some of silver, and some of bronze. They were sold at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in 1995, 50 years after the end of World War II.

THIS bronze paperweight is one of approximately 300 and was cast in 1995.

There are the initials T.M.T.S. on the back of this item which the designer and producer could not remember what that stood for. If anyone knows what those intitials stand for, please let me know!

This paperweight measures 4 1/16" L x 3 9/16" W x 3/4" H and weighs 1lb 14oz.

This item is in excellent pre-owned vintage condition. There are a few scratches and marks on the lower edges. I attempted to photograph these but they are small and hard to capture.
