This is a hollow brass sculpture of a mermaid sitting on a rock. There is a sticker on the rock, Kobenhavn. It is about 3 inches wide, just under 2 inches deep and 3 inches tall.
This is a souvenir from Copenhagen Denmark of the iconic \"The Little Mermaid\" sculpture inspired by the story from Hans Christian Anderson.
Carl Jacobson fell in love with the story after seeing the ballet and commissioned the sculpture Edvard Eriksen. The sculpture was It was unveiled in August of 1913 and has been a tourist attraction ever since at the Langelinie Pier.
The figure was inspired by the ballerina Ellen Price, who danced the lead role in 1909. However did not want to sit as the model, Eriksen\'s wife posed for the sculpture.
