First off, this is NOT A SHOWPIECE KNIFE. It's priced appropriately, but don't expect something that you can toss in the safe or put on display. Ask for more photos if you need more info.
Straight bead blasted blade. ATS-34, original logo (thin lined butterfly with name inside). "Emerson Design" logo on the blade
I bought this NOS sometime around 1998 ,it was an early run sitting on the shelf.
The pros: This is the BIGGER Emerson with a straight blade. This one is a first production run, it does NOT have the "Spec War" logo on it. Bead blasted blade. Recently sent to BM for cleaning and sharpening. The cons: The last 1mm of the tip was broken off. I had BM reshape the tip to a new point. That means the knife is ever so slightly shorter, and ever so slightly differently shaped than normal, but it has a new point. The knife was carried and used hard for many years, there are scratches and stains on the blade, the back spine has marks where someone used a branch as a hammer to help chop wood while camping, the G-10 scales have wear. It's an old workhorse knife that has seen lots of good hard use. It's still one of the strongest blades around, and has decades of use left in it.
