In 1911 Alvar Ternstedt invented the first automobile hand cranked window regulator. Ternstedt expanded its automotive hardware offerings under the ownership of Fisher Body making most of the hardware and trim pieces for GM vehicles, eventually becoming a division of General Motors and the world's largest automotive hardware manufacturer. Ternstedt developed and produced many of the iconic GM hood ornaments and trim pieces. Ternstedt was a major manufacturer for the US military in WWII building everything from aircraft gyros to tank turrets.
In 1954 GM celebrated the production landmark of making 50 Million Cars. GM made a Gold Alloy Medallion acknowledging the Ternstedt contribution to the 50 Million Car achievement, images attached. Historic information only, Medallion is Not Included with the offered Tool Check #2319.
