Up for sale is a large, vintage cotton
Autograph Quilt with Embroidered Individual Blocks.
103 x 82 inches
So sweet!! This big cotton quilt features embroidered varied designs -Lots of different flower designs, a coffee grinder, birds, umbrella, a kitten...
Names of embroiderers are either embroidered in their 10 x 9.5-inch squares, or fabric penned. Many have full names and addresses! Light pink borders surround each of the 63 blocks!! Machine-worked with a solid light blue cotton backing and pink perimeter border.
Through an open seam, spotted is a thin cotton blanket making up the batting. This quilt would make an excellent hand-quilting project. Currently sparsely tacked with white yarn. There are a few blocks with some spotting, in particular one on top and one on the bottom. Some fading to pink cotton. Still, a beautiful display of Oregon (primarily) embroidered blocks.Soft minty green solid backing with turned and hand-sewn yellow dotted border.Lots of swirly machine-quilting throughout, very good! Just washed and line-dried.
