From my Gramp\'s house to my storage for over 40 yrs. Just found it and dusted it off.It is a desk ink well and pen holder [paintbrush if you like]. The shell opens on a metalhinge and the arm swivel back and forth to adjust for different lengths pf writing implements.Beautiful metal patina. I believe it is made of brass. It weighs a little over 2 pounds. It looksto me as the clear glass ink holder vessel is original as it is perfect in height and locks into themetal round groove.I have not touched it\'s beautiful patina. Please look at the pictures carefully as itis in wonderful shape for its age, but not perfect I\'m sure.This item will be very carefully protected for shipping.
