Vintage/Antique 12\" Asian Japanese Man Doll Papier-mache/Wood Peasant/Farmer:

Unusual Antique Doll, I believe Japanese, he has a hard stuffed cloth body with hand carved wooden hands and feet,
papier-mache mask face with cut-out crescent eyes and mouth, course fiber hair and fur eyebrows,
original clothes, sandals with cork soles, woven poncho and straw hat trimmed with fringe of tiny mercury glass beads.
He is an immobile doll, though arms can pose slightly, unsure what he held originally, perhaps a shovel? (would explain the bent leg with foot raised)
Doll measures approximately 12 inches tall and attached to a octagon shape wooden base. Hand written on the bottom with an inventory number (from the collector) and \"Mexico\" so perhaps purchased in Mexico, but I think an Asian doll.
Clothing is discolored with age and small paint nick on lower lip, otherwise Excellent Condition. Smoke Free.
