PLEASE NOTE.... What makes this blade design contour a fighting knife ? Notice the spine of theblade, the opposite side of the cutting edge. The ENTIRE spine is beveled on BOTH sides of the blade allowing the owner or user to sharpen the spine making it a double edge WICKED fighting knife. CUTTING BOTH ON UP-SWING AND DOWN-SWING. Notice the THICKNESS of the blades metal. This is a very heavy duty blade foruse in the Mountains of Canada as a Bowie, or Survival Knife.
ATTENTION must be given to the LAMINATED woodhandle. There are 14 layers of wood laminated together (pictured) which GREATLY strengthens the handleover a plain wood many many times over. This keeps the wood handle from cracking or breaking along with minimizing any chipping. THIS IS A VERY HEAVY DUTY KNIFE.

LEATHER SHEATH. The leather sheath is original for this knife. Condition is excellent. Leather is soft and pliable, receiving periodicconditioning. The hold down snaps and operates as it should, holding knife firmly into sheath.
This knife is VERY RARE to find. Years after the Mounted Police were issued this knife a CommemorativeSouvenir fishing and skinning knife was made for the Friends of the Mounted PoliceHeritage Center. That knife appearssimilar to this however Smaller in size. The blade is thinner and there is no beveled spine on the blade. Also there is engraving regarding thecommemoration.
