The history of this lovely hand painted porcelain bowl dates to the Hong Kong porcelain trade that stated in the 19th century, by the 1960s, there were over 100 workshops in Hong Kong alone. In the 1960s, the demand for decorated porcelain was so great that the workshops started to import white porcelain from Japan to be decorated in Hong Kong. The trade thrived until the 1970s when Hong Kong became a major business center for the world\'s economy. Thus, the shops were forced out to make way for new business facilities. This vintage ACF Japanese Porcelain Ware Bowl was decorated in Hong Kong and is metal encased, may be pewter. The bowl measures approximately 7.75\" in diameter and 1.5\" in height. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Slight indentations in the metal casing . Shipping by USPS Mail services or alternate shipping services.
