Purchased by my aunt in Thailand in the mid-1970s. Original care instructions included.
Non-selvage edges unravel very easily.
Fabric has been stored for 40+ years. Lots of creases. I feel they can be steamed out, but I’m not 100% sure.
I’ve read that authentic Thai silk is rough to the touch. This fabric is not rough to the touch. I tried the flame test on threads and the threads did not continue burning after flame was removed and the threads definitely smelled like burnt hair. See photos for my experiment with fire, which was oddly satisfying.
