HEAVILY DAMAGED Vintage 1950s Eagle Fighting Snake Hand-Carved Green Soapstone Inuit Eskimo Sculpture 14lbs Carved By Hï’yā’sta Qïwa’yas. Large and heavy. Made of genuine green soapstone. Part of a collection of rare native Inuit art that was purchased by our buyers. This piece is in DAMAGED condition which is extremely unfortunate because the piece is beautiful. There is extensive damage and chipping on this piece, please see photos for details. This piece is signed on the bottom by Hï’yā’sta Qïwa’yas (Inuit Disc Number 31-32-SN-379). The disc number is carved into the underside of the statue. The artist could not be identified through our research and the Inuit disc number is not recognized. This piece weighs more than 14 lbs and measures 8\" x 14\" x 4\". There is EXTENSIVE DAMAGE to the piece, please see photos.
