We have anOriginal M.T.W.Rotary 1956 Telephone Asian wood Dragons with swing doors and golden leaf handles.Encased in a carved wooden designer box, ornate with metal trimming, and hand carved Dragon panels. The phone is made of smoother mid-century plastic, and the approximate dimensions are: Overall Height 12\", Box- 6 1/8\" Width, 4.5\" Depth, handset- 10\" Length.Made in aFrench style cradle and the base in the form of a Chinese jewelry box with brass inlay decorations. Whenthe doors are opened the porcelain dial can be seen which is surrounded by hand painted dragons on black lacquered surface.The phone has a four Pronged Plug with vintage US Adapter for phone jack.This is a classic collectors, and will surely be the centerpiece of conversation.
Out of the few circulating online, this is the best preserved of its model that could be found at the time of this listing. There are modest signs of use outside of common characteristics found in goods from this era. There is slight sign of verdigris on the lower left rear corner, and some rubbing on the black paint inside the panels which we have included in the above images.
