The original FLIT gun was developed in the early 1920s as an insecticide sprayer to dispense the commercially produced popular FLIT insecticide to control flies and mosquitos in the home.
The FLIT gun sprayer seen here is a novelty perfume sprayer that is a replica of that FLIT gun or fly sprayer, easily carried in your purse! It has never been used and is in good condition; the pump mechanism works very well.With the pump handle all the way in, this item measures approx 2" long. The side of the large cylinder can be unscrewed to fill it with your favorite perfume. To dispense the perfume you just need to pull back on the pump handle, aim, and depress the plunger to spray.
These novelty brass perfume pumps originally came out in the 1930s and experienced a resurgence of its popularity in 1950 as a brooch when Elizabeth Taylor wore one in her movie "The Father of the Bride"!
