Vintage 1950s Abstract Ceramic Lamp Fiberglass Shade MCM Mid Century Lighting:

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage ceramic table lamp withaccompanying fiberglass shade. Circa '50s. The base is a dark green color, and the fiberglass shade is a greenish color with black and gold painted on horizontal striped designs (see photos). The lamp has a standard on/off toggle switch that is located at the socket. We are not certain as to the maker - there are no labels or tags present.
Measurements: With the cylindrical fiberglass shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 18" tall. The ceramic base measures approx. 8.25" tall x 4" wide x 3.5" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 10.5" high. The cylindrical fiberglass shade measures approx. 9.5" tall x6" in diameter.
Condition: Good vintage condition. There are a few minor cosmetic flaws which we'll mention here, the first being a small scratch to the ceramic on the reverse side of the base where the electrical cord emerges (see photo). It is on the back side of the lamp, so when turned towards a wall, you'll never it is there. The next mention is there are a few breaks in the lacing on the shade. It is still structurally solid. If the purchaser wants, we can re-lace the shade before shipping - just let us know prior to making payment.The wiring looks to have been replaced at one point in time, and is in great shape - there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect before long-term use.
