You are offerding on a real gem: An ANTIQUE New York Subway 1948 route roll sign in a signbox.

The rollsign is from the the R-10 class subway cars that cars were built by the American Car and Foundry Company in 1948. They were out of passenger service by late 1989.

This particular sign was made by The Hunter Illuminated Car Sign Co on November 11, 1948.

The signbox was from the NY Subway R-1/9 cars built between 1930 to 1940. The signbox was cleaned, repainted & gears serviced. Has some scratches.

Brass crank handle included.

Sign reads: \"SIDE ROUTE No. 3 BMT\".

Sign curtain is made of keystone material (shiny cloth).

The sign was made to show the same route inside and outside the train on the same material. That is why the destinations are all printed twice, with one upside-down.

The signbox measures 27 inches by 10 inches by 3 inches.

Rollsign appears to be in like new condition. A flaw or 2. Some original subway dirt. Please study the photos for condition.
