You are offerding on a real gem: An ANTIQUE 1948 roll sign from an R10 class New York Subway car. These cars were built by American Car and Foundry in 1948. They were out of passenger service by late 1989. This particular sign was made by The Hunter Illuminated Car Sign Co on Sept. 21, 1948.
Sign reads: \"SIDE ROUTE No. 3 BMT\". Sign curtain is made of keystone material. The sign was made to show the same destination inside and outside the train on the same material. That is why the destinations are all printed twice, with one upside-down. The routes on this sign are:
