Vintage 1940s/1950s Mineral Specimen Sets Eckert Mineral Research Original Boxes:

Two neat old mineral sets with all specimens and their original boxes intact. From our research these sets are likely from sometimes between 1936 and 1950; The Eckert Mineral Research Inc also published books during this timeframe which is how we’re dating them.
The smaller box is a 9-specimen hardness set and the 25-specimen set labeled Sedimentary & Altered rocks. One of the specimens in the sedimentary set has done what sedimentary rocks do and crumbled into pieces but they are still there. Looks like most of the original number labels on the rocks are still intact too although a few have fallen off in the box.
The boxes themselves show some wear and tear but nothing terrible considering their age. The larger box measures about 9.5” x 6.5” and the smaller is about 8.25” x 5.25”.
