This vintage Remington model 5 (five) manual typewriter(serial #V631136) comes in very good cosmetic condition, with minor finishwear to the edges of the body and a paint touch-up on top, a few misaligned (turned) key finger buttons, and light soiling from previous use and storage (see pictures).

NOTE: The platen roller is in good condition (no flat spots or excessive hardening), but the small feed rollers do have minor flattening that causes occasional slippage of the paper when feeding.

The unit is in solid working condition, with good action on all the keys and carriage movements (except as noted above). The unit has a useable ribbon installed (additional ribbons available on and elsewhere for around $10).

The unit dates to 1933. It has the compact square Remington body style, with a gloss black finish, plated accents, and metal trimmed round black keys (finger buttons) marked with white letters. It features a 10-pitch (Pica) type size.

The original rubber feet on the bottom of the machine, rubber mounts, and two washers have been replaced. The machine can be used mounted to the bottom of the case or removed by taking off the four screws at the corners.

The typewriter comes with the original case in decent to good condition with cracked wood at the right/front corner, dulling/oxidation on hardware (hinges, etc), broken leather handle, and wear and soiling (including paint stains) to the cover material.
